Otto Frei AG is mandated to organise the Plaza at the Internet Governance Forum
About the Internet Governance Forum
The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Mr Kofi Annan, announced on 18 July 2006 the convening of the Internet Governance Forum (IGF), to be held in Athens on 30 October - 2 November 2006. The IGF is an official follow-up to the WSIS and the meeting is open to all WSIS accredited entities and other stakeholders with proven expertise and experience in matters related to Internet Governance. The overall theme of the meeting will be "Internet Governance for Development". The agenda will be structured along the following broad themes.
An open space for exhibitors – The Plaza
There will be an open space next to the forum activities, namely ‘The Plaza’. ‘The Plaza’ is an important part of the inaugural meeting of the IGF – allowing interested organisations or companies the opportunity to showcase projects, share knowledge and build partnerships. Located at the conference venue in the immediate vicinity of the meeting rooms, ‘The Plaza’ is set to bring life and soul to the forum events!
Call for exhibitors!
As the logistical organisers of the ICT for Development Platform Geneva 2003 and ICT 4 all Exhibition Tunis 2005, Otto Frei AG has been mandated to organise the Plaza. There are a limited amount of stands available to allow participants to showcase solutions. However, individually built stands will not be possible, due to the short amount of time available. We are looking for participants to showcase solutions in the field of Internet Governance to a high-level multi-stakeholder audience.
